Meet Blakey :LTDF,
Blakey has been in the :LTDF Family for several years now; he’s been a source of inspiration to all of us daily. Blakey lives with brain cancer and has been battling an up and down daily fight. As to be expected, nothing has been easy for him since the discovery of his cancer. Although it has been hard at times, Blakey has traveled through each day, surgery, hospital visits, etc. with a unique energy and optimistic passion for life. Blakey has a great support team at home from his Mother Miranda, Father Jason, and Sister Morgan. Together as a Family, they have forged through this journey, continuing to do all the things that they did before and more; they have not allowed cancer to dictate to them what they can and can not do. The Appleton’s have been great :LTDF Team Leaders in FL. It’s refreshing to see a family unite in this positive manner in the ugly face of despair that cancer so often offers up; the Appleton Family has called the shots on how they’re going to live their lives every step of the way. This is what Living The Dream Foundation was built on as well as stands for, and we couldn’t be more proud of the Appleton’s for representing life the way God intended it to be lived out. Yes, Blakey’s battle continues every day and we as a Family will stand by and support him through the valley’s and peaks. Thank You Appleton Family, and Thank You Blakey for helping all the people that You help just by being you. Your smile is contagious and priceless; it says a lot about the Warrior that you are.
This summer 2011, Blakey was chosen as :LTDF’s VIP Guest at Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, Florida. Terry and Kacie were in FL to gift this VIP experience to Blakey and Family, making it a special day they would never forget.
The following is Terry’s personal words describing his experience with Blakey and the Appleton’s:
I met Blakey for the first time at this years Warped Tour in Orlando, FL. Previous to meeting, I heard many stories about him and instantly had a tremendous amount of respect and empathy for him and his family, but it wasn’t till after shaking his hand, that I knew my life would change forever. Blakey and I quickly became Buddies, walking around Warped Tour giving high-fives and rock-n-roll horns to everyone that passed us; he was completely fearless, happy and clearly Living The Dream. Blakey wanted piggy-back rides back-and-forth from the air-conditioned tour bus where we were playing games like Go-Fish, to putting that on temporary hold, going back outside to rock out to his favorite bands side-stage, then back again to Go-Fish. After that went on awhile, I jokingly asked Blakey if he’d give me a piggy-back ride, and being the true friend that he is, he tells me he would. I laughed and told him I was joking (for now); we raced back to the bus and the last one there was a rotten egg. Not only was I the rotten egg, but I lost the game of Go Fish that followed; I wish I previously knew that Blakey was a pro, I would have proceeded with caution a bit more. Blakey is a very strong kid, one of the strongest I’ve ever met, not to mention, the best Go-Fisher
My life has been enriched having the honor of hangin’ with Blakey and Family. I love you Blakey. Thanks for being my new friend, and look out because I’ve been practicing. Next time we play, I’ll give you more of a challenge… ![]()

Ps. Make sure you’re exercising your back and leg muscles because I want MY piggy-back ride. I’m sure you can give your Mom and Sister piggy-back rides for training.
